Plaskett town hall highlights agriculture, economy and disaster recovery

Virgin Islands Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett hosting the first of two town halls.

On Wednesday night concerned community members gathered in St. Thomas at Nisky Center.

They addressed everything from disaster recovery, agriculture, domestic violence, postal issues and the economy.

In the over two hour long town hall, people had the chance to hear from Plaskett, members of her staff and heads of agencies in the community.

Those listening had a chance to ask questions directly to the Congresswoman.

Listen to the story above for what Plaskett had to say about the night.

Plaskett said she hopes to have more town halls in new places like Water Island or Coral Bay in St. John in the future.

She also plans to have mobile offices for “congress in your community.”
