Robbery investigation continues in St. John

USVI News was in the Enighed neighborhood of St. John. Just steps away from Cruz Bay that’s where you come off the ferry into St. John and it is also a big tourist area.

In this area there were two consecutive robberies in the beginning of June. Now two months later community members here are concerned about their safety and what is being done to protect families in this neighborhood.

The incident we are referring to happened on June 15 when two males reportedly entered a home here around 11:30 at night. Both were wearing masks and carrying a firearm. The victims said they took cash and personal items and took off on foot. We are told they were eventually taken into custody but released.

This was being investigated by VI Police but has since been passed onto the Attorneys General Office. When we asked them for comment they told USVI News they can’t provide any additional information at this time as the incident is still under investigation.

It’s a quiet, tight knit community and people are concerned about what happens from here.

Police have been investigating this neighborhood and starting some patrols. Nothing has happened since those two dates back in June, but people are concerned it could start again.
