St. John fundraiser raises money for animal care center

St. John bringing back the ‘roaring’ 20s.

In an all-out celebration, supporters of the Animal Care Center of St. John danced the night away all to raise money for the animal center.

“It’s our annual fundraiser and it’s when we make the most money for our entire year for paying for the staff and transportation of all the animals to get to and from the vet, and their vet bills, and everything our shelter needs,” Jessica Palmer a board member at the Center said.

“We just try to offer the community a resource for animals. Whatever we can do we do a food program for dogs and cats, we provide free medicine for heart worm, fleas and ticks and we try to educate the community. We encourage people to come in and ask us questions when it comes to caring for our animals. We provide free spay neuter if you want your animal fixed please come talk to us. You know we’re here to help. We’re a community organization and that’s all we’re trying to do,” Ryan Moore, the shelter manager added.

The event raised a total of $39,000 for the St. John Animal Care Center.
