St. Thomas man arrested for reported unlawful sexual contact

A tourist visiting St. Thomas from Washington state said she was sexually assaulted after getting ride to where she thought would be her home.
The victim told the Seattle Police Department that she arrived on St. Thomas on Sunday, December 2, 2018 when she was offered a ride from someone named “Jay”, later identified as Juan Grant.
The victim said Grant took her sightseeing and then to a private location.
The victim stated that while at the location she began consuming alcohol and at some point blacked out.
The victim went on by stating that she woke up the next day naked Monday, December 3, 2018, in a private location.
The victim confronted Grant, who stated they had sexual intercourse.
After further investigation by CIB, an arrest warrant was signed and issued for 27-year-old Grant on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
He was located and arrested pursuant to the arrest warrant for Unlawful Sexual Contact First Degree.
Bail was set at $50,000 Grant was remanded to the Bureau Corrections.
