VIPD Investigates Shooting Death of St. Thomas Man

ST. THOMAS, USVI – On April 16 approximately 1:47 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a concerned citizen that shots were fired in the Tutu area. Officers traveled to the area and found an unresponsive black male on the ground. The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshots to the body. Emergency Medical Technicians on scene concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.

The victim was identified by next of kin as 26-year-old Shaq’kil Roberts.

The VIPD is asking for the community’s assistance in finding those responsible for this incident. Anyone having information regarding this crime is asked to call 911, the Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5569 or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
