FEMA extends Emergency Home Repairs VI program

An additional two weeks has been added to the Federal Emergency Management Agency program helping Virgin Island families’ recover from the 2017 hurricanes.

FEMA tells USVI News the Emergency Home Repairs VI program has been extended until Monday, April 15th

They said the requested two-week extension will allow the territory to maximize the use of its contractors to complete those homes that are pending completion.

As we reported this program has been embroiled in controversy surrounding non payments to workers in the program from sub-contractors.

We’re still looking into this issue.
