Government plan to protect VI trees

The Bryan administration take steps to protect our trees.

The new “tree law” protects all public trees.

The law says anyone wishing to remove or prune public trees must apply with the VI Department of Agriculture with a permit application.

Unless approved, it is considered an offense to take any portion of a public tree.

If you want to report someone doing this contact VI Department of Ag. At 340-778-0997.

Bill Number 32-0062, ‘The Community and Heritage Tree Law of the Virgin Islands’ was signed into law January 6th, 2019.
