Liberty Mobile provides new update on construction work in St. Thomas and St. Croix for the week of August 2-7

St. Thomas, USVI – Liberty Mobile USVI is updating residents on the ongoing enhancements and expansion of its mobile network and infrastructure that will take place during the week of August 2-7 in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), particularly in St. Thomas and St. Croix. The work is part of the company’s ongoing improvements on the territory’s network to give it more resiliency, redundancy and improved performance. The company will continue providing USVI residents weekly updates on the construction work progress.

“We continue working hard to provide our USVI customers with a more resilient network that will respond better during natural disasters and solid mobile service and faster internet speeds,” said Naji Khoury, president and CEO of Liberty Mobile USVI. “We are also committed to complete this work with the utmost care in the construction process.”

According to Khoury, the upgrades that will take place this week in St. Thomas include asphalt restoration work at Sugar Estate Road (including Dronningens Glade and Pollyberg), Raphune Hill and Weymouth Highway to Tutu Park. Traffic rated box cover repairs will take place at Mandahl Road (Route 42), Donoe Bypass, Eastend, Smithbay Road (Emile “Milo” Francis Memorial Drive), Red Hook (Nicholas “Nick” Friday Memorial Drive), Benner Hill Cell Site (behind the Red Hook Family Practice Building), Mariendahl Road (Nadir Bridge), Turpentine Run and Mafolie Road (Road 35).

Meanwhile, thermoplastic line striping work in St. Croix will be carried out on Centerline Road, Highway 69 and Highway 73.

Specific work dates and times for these areas will be available at Liberty Mobile USVI’s website https://mobile.libertyvi.com/. This information will also be available at the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works’ website https://dpw.vi.gov/.

The executive said that these jobs will be performed with minimal traffic impact. However, he added that drivers should expect delays due to lane and partial road closures and must exercise caution when traveling in these locations.
