Man Arrested After Telling Police He Was Paid to Return Rental Car Involved in Cruz Bay Shooting

ST. JOHN, USVI – On June 3 at roughly 3:45 p.m., Hasani Liburd, age 27 of Enighed was arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact.

Liburd was observed returning a rental car used to flee the scene of a shooting in Cruz Bay on June 2. He stated that he was paid to return the vehicle to the rental agency, but refused to cooperate any further with detectives. He was placed under arrest for involvement in the shooting incident.

Bail for Liburd was set at $1,000. Unable to post bail, he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
