Six injured at St. Croix beach event shooting in Frederiksted

A beach party turned violent in St. Croix over the weekend, leaving six people injured after a shooting broke out.

It happened around Fort Frederik Beach in Frederiksted around 9:30 at night at an event called Float-topia. 

VIPA identified six people that had gunshot wounds. Five of the six have non-life threatening injuries. 

Five were taken to Juan Luis Hospital in private cars for treatment. 

One was airlifted. 

The incident is currently under investigation by the criminal investigation bureau.
