St. Croix man arrested for animal abuse

A St. Croix man has been arrested for animal abuse.

50-year-old Reginald Curtis Bell was arrested Monday for charges of 1stdegree animal abuse, animal abuse in the second degree and animal neglect.

Bell claimed to have a disability and used the dogs as “service dogs.”

There was a petition on social media with video showing Bell throwing his dogs off the Frederiksted Pier.

That petition has more than 7,000 signatures.

Two of his dogs were held by police for protective custody.

He was sent to the Adult Correctional Facility after failing to post $10,000 bail.
