UVI renews President Halls’ contract for another five years

The University of the Virgin Islands is extending the contract for President David Hall for another five years.

Hall began his tenure as the fifth president of the university on August 1st2009.

In an executive session the UVI Board of Trustees approved a five-year agreement to employ Dr. Hall through July 31, 2024.

Just recently Hall helped convene a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative at UVI.

He talked with us about that historic meeting.

“It is an honor to do so. And to do so because it is really relevant having gone through two category five hurricanes and seeing the devestation not only for the Virgin Islands but other islands in the Caribbean and now having a way to continue to address the problems and to come up with some long term solutions and to bring together powerful individuals, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton and then all of the people that they can attract to try to seriously think about solutions is a rare historical moment. And so, the University is just honoured to have been able to host it,” Hall said.

There will be no change in the President’s salary or his ability to be awarded a performance bonus at the end of each contract year as determined by the Board.
