Virgin Islands Health Department Receives $2M Grant from FEMA

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement announcing a $2 million grant from U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Health for Emergency Protective Measures for the (COVID-19) Pandemic:

“I am pleased to announce that FEMA has awarded a grant, totaling $2,441,666.67 to the Virgin Islands Department of Health. This funding has been allocated to provide ambulances, personnel, equipment, and supplies for emergency protective measures against the spread of the virus.

“We will continue to keep our community safe. The funding provided by FEMA will provide the Virgin Islands Department of Health with the resources needed to help fulfill their mission of keeping the public safe.”
